My regular readers (if I still have any!) have probably noticed that I have been missing for quite sometime! I've been pretty busy with life (new baby) but I've also been super busy working on a new site/project. I am now ready to start accepting customers for machine quilting services. *eeep* I'm so excited! The site still needs a few tweaks here and there but I can start accepting customers now.
I'm running a super special right now so make sure you check it out if you need help turning those tops into quilts. You could get a quilt top machine quilted for as low as $30! Spots fill up fast as I limit the number of quilts I take in per month.
OK enough of the info-mercial. We all know you are here for some fabulous hard to find, out of print "fish in bags!"
I will give 2 fat quarters, one blue one white, to one lucky reader. I will ship to anywhere in the world even! The giveaway will close December 16 and a winner will be chosen on December 17th by random number generator.
For entries (leave a separate comment for each entry):
- Leave me a comment telling me what would entice you to send out your quilt to be quilted. Could it be free shipping, free batting, free binding service, an awesome price? If you've had any bad experiences with a machine quilter let me know about your experience so I don't make the same mistakes! (no names please)
- I love my followers so you get an extra entry if you follow my blog.
- The best way to keep up with any specials I might be running is to follow my new Machine Quilting blog and you'll get an extra entry too.

«Oldest ‹Older 401 – 503 of 503I've never sent mine out because it is so expensive to do that, so I guess an awesome price could help convince me.
Free shipping. I live in Australia and sending quilts overseas would cost quite a bit of money. Thanks for the giveaway.

I'm very new to quilting and I think the free binding service would be great - that's the part of quilting that "scares" me the most. Thanks for the chance to win! ellen@myerly.net
I guess it would depend on the price for me.
A reasonable price would be nice. I think good photographs of the quilting available would entice me. Something that would make me want to send a quilt out? Having a dear friend with two quilt WIP's that are stalled out at the quilting point. It'd be nice to get one done for her.
I know how excited you are - I have a longarm myself and I love quilting other peoples quilts. Good luck on you venture
I think it would be free shipping, before it might have been price but now the the post office has lost its mind I will say free shipping. Thanks for the chance to win, I have only recently discovered Heather Ross and most of her older fabrics are impossible to find. Thanks for the chance to win
I would love to send mine out, but I would need it to be in Toronto, Canada :)
Free shipping or binding would be a very nice extra. Thanks for the chance to win!
Great giveaway--thanks for the chance!
I would need a fantastic price. :)
I think it would have to be a great price to get me to try sending a quilt out. I have been curious to try it, as I get so far behind on my own!

I'm normally all about free shipping and deals, but for longarm quilting the only things that would entice me to a person's business is how much I like their previous work and how enthusiastic they are about quilting.
I've read some blog posts by longarm quilters who just seemed to want to stipple everything and get them over with, and that totally put me off. On the other hand, I've read others who love working with their customers and trying out new designs, and those quilters are the ones I'd send my quilts to, regardless of the price. :)
Free shipping would be pretty sweet!
I follow your machine quilting blog
I am thinking that free binding would be a huge motivator... thanks for a wonderful giveaway!
I wish I could afford to send quilts out to be quilted. I think I would get more quilts sewn that way, but then that could be a bad thing, I would nee to buy more fabric.
But I think that free shipping would be a big incentive. I love binding my own quilts, and I like to get my own batting. So the free shipping would be the biggest for me.
I'm a follower now.
It's not easy to persuade me to send out my quilt... probably only when I need it fast, don't have time myself and sending it out would be fast enough!
I haven't sent one out but I guess I'd want to know the person is creative and open to discussion about the plan...
Thanks for the chance!

I'd be most enticed by price. I know it's difficult to machine quilt/purchase a long arm quilter, but I can't, on my budget, justify spending almost as much as I did on fabric on the actual quilting. That said... as a business lady I understand you have to make a living ;)
I'm not a big quilter - but I imagine free shipping would be a big hit! I LOVE this fabric, thanks for the chance to win it! cried2dream(at)gmail.com
I have two views here. The first - I love the make tops but don't always love the quilting. The second - if you don't do the quilting, can you really say you made a quilt? Anyway. I would be very hesitant to send my quilt off to be quilted. But my deciding factor if I wanted to do it would probably be total price.
It would have to be a great price. I'm on a tight budget (aka poor), but I'd love to send my quilt to be professionally quilted. I am not equipped for even the easiest of quilting, But I have to do it anyways. I already spend enough on the fabric and batting.
I haven't done a "real" quilt yet, have that planned for next year. I'd say cost would be a major factor in whether I would send it out. Free shipping would be huge if it was not a local vendor.
I want this fabric so bad so I have followed this blog.
And have followed your Machine Stitching blog.
I'd send out a quilt if I was making a queen or king. The smaller sizes I just manage on my machine. And then the price had to be competitive....
A good price with good work is probably the most important to me, but the binding idea is good too!
an awesome price!
I think free batting would be a good idea. I wouldn't want to ship my quilt as I would worry it could get lost in the mail. I also like to talk with the quilter in person about my ideas and her ideas.
I've never sent a quilt out to a long-arm quilter. I guess the price would have to be right and the quilter would have to be highly recommended.
I am a new follower!
An awesome price probably, I've never done it, but I don't quilt very often!!! froggygirldesigns at gmail dot com
I might try it if it was a very good price, but I like to do my own quilting!
I've always thought sending a quilt out would be expensive and have never had anyone else do it. But I really have no clue as to price. So I'd say free shipping and a fair price would entice me.
I honestly don't think I would ever let anyone do my quilting because I'm too picky about it!
I have my quilts quilted by a LAQ that I love. Not sure I would mail them though - be worried the PO would loose them. happy holidays.
I have never sent a quilt out for quilting but apart from price and quality, turnaround time would be very important to me.
fair price, quality and timeliness
I will send my quilt out to be quilted if it is any bigger than a twin size. An awesome price for good work for help me decide where to send it.
I would have to say that free binding would entice me to use a quilting service.
healyka@yahoo.com
Probably a good price would be the best incentive and free shipping would be a nice bonus.
I'm not sure what would make me take that step. I prefer hand-quilting and would want to do so for any bed-sized quilt I make. But I've seen some impressive machine quilting so I'm slowly changing my mind. :)
I would want quality and NO pets near the room where the quilt loom is. I do not want pet hair on my quilt. Good luck. Thanks for the chance to win :-) jjjcwebb (at) Hotmail d0t com
I'm a sucker for free shipping. I find it hard to resist! :)

Free shipping, for sure!
My own lack of the Type A personality needed to do a quilt correctly always leads me in search of help. Availability is key too (don't want to wait months for it to come back via mail).
awesome price is always good, but so are example pictures of what you can do!
i need a charity quilt quilted, it is throw size (i took on too much for the holidays!) so i may look you up!
i am a new follower- and, eep, i just looked at your site- it has example pictures- sorry!
I'm not a quilter, but I guess the price would be a big deciding factor for me.
I have never sent anything out to be quilted so I have never had a bad experience. Honestly I just cannot afford to send anything out! I love the work that long armers do but it is just and expense thing for me. The only way I could see myself sending something out is if the quilt was beyond special to me. Like a wedding or anniversary gift that people were going in on and we could split the cost. Sorry I couldn't be more help!
Thank you for the giveaway!
Price would be my biggest enticement. I have never sent a quilt out to be quilted, but would consider it for a larger project.

I'm a follower of your machine quilting blog too!
I suppose an awesome price would be tempting but I've never done it.

I've never sent a quilt out to be quilted, but I'm kind of new to quilting. I live in Amish country, so many people have the Amish hand quilt theirs, and the Amish charge by the 18 inch piece of thread they use.
I am working on the Farmer's Wife quilt and I think it's going to be the biggest quilt I've made yet. I will probably have it professionally quilted. I am becoming a follower so I can find you:)
A good price is key. I've thought about sending out some bed-sized quilts as I have only a basic machine with a small throat. But I am on a budget! Thanks for the giveaway. akmajor (at) gmail (dot) com
For me it would be most important that I don't have to ship internationally as I am in Germnay and the shipping costs would be very high.
When I put heaps of effort into a quilt top...I nearly always have it professionally quilted...especially quilts over single bed sized.
Overall price
Free binding sounds very inticing - especially for someone like me who has never made a quilt before, but has a husband who has been asking her to make one for the last 10 years!
oh, and I'm a new follower too.
I always do my own quilting but I think if it were a huge quilt that would entice me to send it out.
Definitely a fair price AND good quality. Oh, free shipping is pretty good too!
mcintoshsusan at hotmail dot com
It would not be hard to get me to send out my quilt tops to be quilted at all! I've never had it done, but with all the trouble I had just doing a little lap quilt, I can imagine how hard a queen sized one would be.
New follower of your machine quilting site
Hmm... probably free or good shipping as I live in Canada, shipping is a pretty big deal. I'd always want quality quilting patterns, not just free motion loops - I can do that myself.
I live in the UK so there are few services like yours :(
and those that do exixt work out too pricy for me (on top of the cost of fabric, I have to pay around £10per metre for good quality quilt fabrics)
So a simple quilt, custom quilted could end up costing near £100!!!!!!!
So for me a fair price (taking time & workmanship into consideration) would be my first priority
my goal for the new year is to finally start my first quilt, so i don't have any experience with machine quilting yet. i'm enjoying the comments, though... great tips. thanks for the super giveaway!
Cute fabric! I have only made a few baby size basic quilts. If I were to make a large one and send it off for quilting, I would want to see examples of their work and good quality of work.
Thanks for the great giveaway!
I'm not at the stage where I need to send anything out , but I have plans this year to make a big quilt for my bed, so it will come down to Price ( total that would include the cost of shipping)...
Definitely the price and shipping would be the biggest factors.
Free shipping!
I've always quilted my own quilts but I'd be interested in trying out sending it to someone. Seeing finished work is more important to me, making sure my quilt is in good hands :D
Maybe a coupon for the first order or something?
Free shipping would do it for me. I love binding so that would not hook me.
Wow what would entice me? I suppose the price is a big factor, I'd also want to be really happy with my work before I was brave enough to send it out! Quilting services are few and far between in the UK I believe! thanks so much for a lovely giveaway
I think it probably comes down to the price. I'd like to know up front -- maybe on a site or in a pamphlet -- what my options could be and what those options would cost. Thanks for the giveaway! Good luck with the new endeavours!
Oh, and I'm a new follower! I'd like to follow your (mis)adventures! :)
free shipping would make it really tempting. thank you for the opportunity!

I have to admit I'm quite frugal. However I don't mind paying for good quality work!
I`ve never sent a quilt away to be quilt, but then again I haven`t really made a ton of quilts yet either! I think i`d be enticed to send away if I had spent a REALLY long time on the top and wanted something really special done that I know I just would not be able to do on my own. But free batting, shipping or binding couldn`t hurt either!
I`m also a follower of your blog!
and a follower of your machine quilting blog!
I follow your blog, thank you for such a wonderful giveaway!
I am now following your machine quilting blog as well :)
I have never sent out anything for machine quilting, the price has always been the one to stop me, plus I like knowing I made something all myself
Custom quilting on a very special quilt. Thanks for the chance to win.

I'm a sucker for free shipping!
Free batting and binding would be heavenly!

I would if it wasn't so expensive, had a discount code maybe or free shipping!
chacoyaguayo(at)yahoo(dot)com
Thank you for the opportunity;)
I don't know what would get me to send out a quilt. I like hand quilting when I've got time. I suppose if I had a big quilt, I might send it out.
What a great, great giveaway! I sure love Heather Ross!! Thanks so much for the chance!
I haven't sent out anything to be quilted yet, but plan to. For me, good price and quality are most important.
Thanks!
A good price and quality work.

Honestly, about the only thing that would make me send a quilt out to be quilted was if I needed it IMMEDIATELY (and yes, extra urgency should be read into those caps. *grin*), and even then only if it was a good price. I hand-quilt everything, and it's my favorite part of the process.
Thanks for the opportunity to win! :)

I would probably only send out a quilt to somewhere local to me. Because it would make me nervous!
