I've been pretty busy with life (new baby) but I've also been super busy working on a new site/project. I am now ready to start accepting customers for machine quilting services. *eeep* I'm so excited! The site still needs a few tweaks here and there but I can start accepting customers now.

A reasonable price would be nice. I think good photographs of the quilting available would entice me. Something that would make me want to send a quilt out? Having a dear friend with two quilt WIP's that are stalled out at the quilting point. It'd be nice to get one done for her.

I'm normally all about free shipping and deals, but for longarm quilting the only things that would entice me to a person's business is how much I like their previous work and how enthusiastic they are about quilting.
I've read some blog posts by longarm quilters who just seemed to want to stipple everything and get them over with, and that totally put me off. On the other hand, I've read others who love working with their customers and trying out new designs, and those quilters are the ones I'd send my quilts to, regardless of the price. :)

I wish I could afford to send quilts out to be quilted. I think I would get more quilts sewn that way, but then that could be a bad thing, I would nee to buy more fabric.
But I think that free shipping would be a big incentive. I love binding my own quilts, and I like to get my own batting. So the free shipping would be the biggest for me.

I'd be most enticed by price. I know it's difficult to machine quilt/purchase a long arm quilter, but I can't, on my budget, justify spending almost as much as I did on fabric on the actual quilting. That said... as a business lady I understand you have to make a living ;)

I have two views here. The first - I love the make tops but don't always love the quilting. The second - if you don't do the quilting, can you really say you made a quilt? Anyway. I would be very hesitant to send my quilt off to be quilted. But my deciding factor if I wanted to do it would probably be total price.
It would have to be a great price. I'm on a tight budget (aka poor), but I'd love to send my quilt to be professionally quilted. I am not equipped for even the easiest of quilting, But I have to do it anyways. I already spend enough on the fabric and batting.
I haven't done a "real" quilt yet, have that planned for next year. I'd say cost would be a major factor in whether I would send it out. Free shipping would be huge if it was not a local vendor.

I'd send out a quilt if I was making a queen or king. The smaller sizes I just manage on my machine. And then the price had to be competitive....
A good price with good work is probably the most important to me, but the binding idea is good too!

I think free batting would be a good idea. I wouldn't want to ship my quilt as I would worry it could get lost in the mail. I also like to talk with the quilter in person about my ideas and her ideas.
I've never sent a quilt out to a long-arm quilter. I guess the price would have to be right and the quilter would have to be highly recommended.

I'm not sure what would make me take that step. I prefer hand-quilting and would want to do so for any bed-sized quilt I make. But I've seen some impressive machine quilting so I'm slowly changing my mind. :)

I have never sent anything out to be quilted so I have never had a bad experience. Honestly I just cannot afford to send anything out! I love the work that long armers do but it is just and expense thing for me. The only way I could see myself sending something out is if the quilt was beyond special to me. Like a wedding or anniversary gift that people were going in on and we could split the cost. Sorry I couldn't be more help!

I've never sent a quilt out to be quilted, but I'm kind of new to quilting. I live in Amish country, so many people have the Amish hand quilt theirs, and the Amish charge by the 18 inch piece of thread they use.
I am working on the Farmer's Wife quilt and I think it's going to be the biggest quilt I've made yet. I will probably have it professionally quilted. I am becoming a follower so I can find you:)

For me it would be most important that I don't have to ship internationally as I am in Germnay and the shipping costs would be very high.
When I put heaps of effort into a quilt top...I nearly always have it professionally quilted...especially quilts over single bed sized.

It would not be hard to get me to send out my quilt tops to be quilted at all! I've never had it done, but with all the trouble I had just doing a little lap quilt, I can imagine how hard a queen sized one would be.

Hmm... probably free or good shipping as I live in Canada, shipping is a pretty big deal. I'd always want quality quilting patterns, not just free motion loops - I can do that myself.
I live in the UK so there are few services like yours :(
and those that do exixt work out too pricy for me (on top of the cost of fabric, I have to pay around £10per metre for good quality quilt fabrics)
So a simple quilt, custom quilted could end up costing near £100!!!!!!!
So for me a fair price (taking time & workmanship into consideration) would be my first priority

I have to admit I'm quite frugal. However I don't mind paying for good quality work!
I`ve never sent a quilt away to be quilt, but then again I haven`t really made a ton of quilts yet either! I think i`d be enticed to send away if I had spent a REALLY long time on the top and wanted something really special done that I know I just would not be able to do on my own. But free batting, shipping or binding couldn`t hurt either!

Honestly, about the only thing that would make me send a quilt out to be quilted was if I needed it IMMEDIATELY (and yes, extra urgency should be read into those caps. *grin*), and even then only if it was a good price. I hand-quilt everything, and it's my favorite part of the process.
